Protecting Your Privacy Is Important To Us!
At Jory, we are dedicated to protecting your privacy and safeguarding any of your personal, business, and financial information that we may have in our possession (your “information”). Client confidentiality is one of our highest priorities and forms a cornerstone of our commitment to you. However you choose to provide your personal, business or financial information to us, we use vigorous security safeguards to ensure that your information is never at risk.
We need certain information about you in order to enable us to meet certain contractual, regulatory and income tax reporting requirements on your behalf and to help us to understand your investment goals and objectives. Accordingly, through appropriate forms, we ask you to provide us with your name, birth date and social insurance number. To help us serve you better, we also ask you about your asset holdings and their values, your investment goals and objectives and the extent of your investment knowledge, as well as the names of your dependents and beneficiaries. For registered accounts, we also need additional information for registration purposes. Finally to help us keep our records accurate and complete, we ask you to notify us of any changes or corrections in your information.
We either keep your information in electronic form or in filing cabinets in our office in paper form. In either case, only authorized employees have access to your information and appropriate safeguards are in place to prevent unauthorized access. When we need to store information offsite, the storage firm is contractually obligated to adhere to our privacy and security measures.
We may use third party service providers to perform certain services, such as, for example, processing and confirming securities transactions and processing or preparing income tax materials. We will provide our service providers only with such personal information as they will require in order to perform their particular services. We will also require them to protect any of your personal information they require consistent with our privacy policy and security measures.
All Jory personnel are required to sign a Code of Conduct, which obliges them to respect and protect your personal information, even after they leave our employment. Except as referred to above, no disclosure of any of your information can be made to a third party without your express consent. When your information is no longer required for contractual or regulatory purposes, it is shredded if in paper form; if electronically stored, we delete it from our computer system.

If you use the internet to communicate with us or you access our website, certain information about your computer will automatically be generated, collected and logged by web servers, including the Internet Provider (IP) the address assigned to your computer by your Internet Service Provider (ISP), the type of browser you are using, the general location of your computer, and web pages visited. On January 1, 2004, an Act of the Federal Parliament was put into effect which requires all businesses, in Canada, to put into place a variety of policies and practices, including the appointment of a privacy officer. Jory’s privacy officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Act and for training Jory personal in privacy policy matters.
